This October, we stand together in support of breast cancer awareness.

As the weather begins cooling off, we’re reminded that October isn’t just a time for pumpkin spice and changing leaves. It’s also Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a time to show our support for the many women and families affected by breast cancer.

This month, we’re honoring a survivor close to our hearts – Sharon Phillips, who has been cancer-free for six years!

“I’ve always had regular mammograms and so thankful I did. In  April 2018 after a routine mammogram I was called back for more tests and was diagnosed with breast cancer. I chose to be treated at what was then called Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Newnan, Georgia. I was Estrogen and Her2 positive. The doctor performed a lumpectomy and also removed two lymph nodes under my arm. That was followed by 12 weeks of chemotherapy. During this time my Jackson co-workers rallied around me and made t-shirts with “Team Sharon: No One Fights Alone Jackson Strong.” I was allowed to work from home to be able to keep up my work. What a blessing! After the chemotherapy I had 28 days of radiation. All went well! God blessed me with healing and I have been cancer free now for six years! Ladies, have those mammograms! Early detection can save your life!”

This October, we remember all the brave fighters and survivors, as well as those we’ve lost. We believe in the power of community, and together, we can help spread awareness, support life-saving research, and inspire hope.

Here’s how you can get involved this month:

Wear Pink

Look for our techs in pink throughout October. Whether it’s a ribbon or shirt, join our team in wearing pink for the month of October to spread awareness.

Participate

Consider attending a local awareness event, including:

Paint the Town Pink Columbus
(October 18)

Auburn All In All Pink
(October 18)

Your participation can help spread the word & provide support!

Spread the Word

Remind your loved ones about the importance of early detection and prevention.

Let’s work towards a future where breast cancer is a thing of the past! As always, thank you for your valued business, and joining us in this important cause.

Hoops for Hope

Earlier this month we had the opportunity to join the Auburn University Men’s Basketball team and Down Syndrome Alabama for Hoops for Hope, an incredible event for individuals with Down syndrome, age 6th grade and older. The day included drills, games, autographs and photos, and a whole lot of fun!

Hoops for Hope, a charity event sponsored by Jackson Services and hosted by Auburn University.

Kicking it for Hadilee

Last week we joined others in our community for the Kickin’ It for Hadilee Kickball Tournament in West Point benefiting the Arnold family. Hadilee is the daughter of Toby Arnold, a Jackson Services employee, and the tournament raised funds for her long-awaited homecoming following a car accident this May. Jackson Services was proud to provide a team for the tournament, which raised over $3,500 in total. We offer our continued prayers and support for Hadilee’s recovery journey! Welcome home Hadilee!
